I don’t have the quote at hand, but I remember reading years ago how Janis Joplin observed that male musicians (though obviously not Lennie) had hot chicks pursuing them, while her ‘groupies’ were ten-year-olds. Then again, they might be preferable to the types that Lennie draws.
