We had a big (for us) snow yesterday, too. Not the 12-15" that some were predicting but 6-12" depending on the area. For southeast VA, that’s a lot of snow (snow plow, what’s a snow plow?).
My dad shoveled his driveway in Maryland one big storm about 15 years ago. The snowplows hadn’t done the folks’ street yet three days after the storm but he wanted to be ready when they did. Which is how he found out at 4 am that the ambulance company had bought snowplow blades for the front of their ambulances so that they could get to all the people having heart attacks from shoveling their driveways. Close call there. Dad’s 90 now and still with us—but after that incident the teenage boy next door quietly beat Dad to it after every snowfall and tried not to get caught helping out. I never met him and I don’t know his name but I wish I did so I could tell him thank you. Maybe he’ll read this comment.

And just when the driveway was done the snowplow came out of its hiding spot to fill it back in….
