The Big Picture by Lennie Peterson for July 27, 2020

There’s an old Sandra Boynton book called, “Don’t Let the Turkeys Get You Down.” Thank you for your comic, and give Homeslice a gentle scritch under the chin from me (assuming hairless cats like those, too?)

Don’t retire Lennie! Just ignore the a$$holes leaving nasty comments. They seem to think any of us give a crap what they think. :)

Please don’t retire it. It’s one of my favorites.

If you retire this strip, where would that poor lonely troll go?

Lennie, fellow musician here (2 national jazz records #11 and #7)from a family of artists (sis is a nationally recognized public artist). I KNOW what I speak of when I say…..PLEASE let the jerks like mastercats roll off your back. he is just a rude, insecure unhappy fellow lashing out.NOW is NOT the time to quit. Oh no! Please don’t retire the strip! I’m fairly new (within a year) and it’s my favorite strip! From where I sit, most of your followers love you, Homeslice and co. Sadly, these days, there are a lot of angry people out there who feel they should share their thoughts with the world. I’m with “Bengal” (above comment): “Don’t let a bad guy win”.

Illegitimum non carborundum.

I have always hated being punished for the actions of others. Please, Lennie, don’t punish me!

Please, don’t leave us, Lennie! I know I follow you on other places, but I absolutely love The Big Picture! And Homeslice! As a cat (and dog and guinea pig and oh heck, almost all animals) person, I think you get his thoughts perfectly. We do that ourselves with our furbabies, it’s a lot of fun, especially when one of them looks at us like “Duh!”!

Lennie – We love The Big Picture. Its hard times, to many folks just don’t get out now. And some of them haven’t figured out how to handle that. …… ps I was supposed to be kayaking and camping along the Mississippi River with a bunch of friends for the next week and I’m stuck in a big city with a heat wave.

Lennie, please don’t go. You have a loyal fan base who would be so disappointed. Learn that comments from the likes of mistercatworks should roll off your back without harm. There’s always those who will not get you and your style. Besides, they provide fodder for more strips, don’t they?

Don’t tease us like that. Just do it

You have fallen uncontrollably into the truth about comedy and what comics have exploited for ages- that the greatest laughs are not fiction, but rather derived by just reflecting the stupidity of real people.

It’s hard to soar with the eagles when you’re surrounded by turkeys, um, commentators with bad attitudes and the desire to lecture others about that which they know not.

‘Mastercatworks’ must have deleted his comment of yesterday!

And I really enjoyed the concert. It was delayed a little, but well worth waiting for. You guys are great!

Don’t let the one ruin it for the many!

I love that you share your thoughts about us with us. There is always one that just doesn’t get it. Ignore them and, hopefully, they will go away….

No! Don’t even contemplate leaving us! I need my Big Picture fix each day. I need Homeslice. And through your comic strip I need Lennie Peterson to routinely and adroitly confirm there are clueless, idiotic people out there and its not just me who notices this.

Hope you stick around Lennie. I only found your strip a couple of years ago and it instantly became one of my favorites. Never will understand people who want to be critical of entertainment they choose to consume. If that twit doesn’t like your stuff he’s a moron who simply shouldn’t read your stuff. Meanwhile, Those of us enlightened ones who do enjoy it hope you keep going!

You could, but like Gary Larson—-you’d be back in a bit.

Have you gotten enough adulation yet? Well, let me add mine. One of the few comics I really look forward to……even if it is the same one from the day before. Mistercatworks doesn’t understand cats if he thinks they ‘work’. I probably just don’t understand his name. Hopefully, we won’t see him again. Keep the comic strips going……what else have you got to do these days? Love ya, Lennie!!

PS – I wish I could take credit for this observation, but I heard it from Don Imus’ producer – Bernard McGuirk: “Twitter is the bathroom wall of the 21st century.” It applies to all other anonymous platforms as well.

Lennie, please don’t retire! There are soooo many of us that love this strip. Maybe you should just disable the comments. And, those of us who appreciate you, can say hi on your facebook page!

And, all of your readers would be very sad if you did indeed retire from the strip.

Homeslice is happy and that is all that matters (to him :-). We all appreciate being able to see his adventures in near real time

I warned you about this the 1st day you decided to read comments and interact with us little people.

Don’t be talking about retiring the strip. Homeslice has a substantial kibble residual coming in from the click ads. I don’t think the scene in your house is going to be pretty if you mess that up for him.

Please don’t retire your strip because of dopey comments. Too many of us actually get it and would miss it tremendously.

Why doesn’t mistercatworks unsubscribe if your strip is too challenging?

Nope. Not unsubscribing. Please add my plea to continue to all the rest. I am one of those who look forward to every strip – even those where the only change is Ginger finding a new place or places to rest. The Big Picture is one of the few strips where I read all the comments – even the ones from idiots – and would miss the strip and the comments if you were to retire.

I’m still here, buddy.

Do not listen to the clueless haters Lennie. One of the few upsides of all of this sheltering in place is more frequent comics of “The Big Picture”! And of course, following Homeslice on Instagram!!

So…what now?

Dopey comic strip! Them’s fighting words Mister! Now take them back, as well as the horrible thought of your retiring this strip. If you feel so inclined go ahead and slip us an extra Ginger in the next one, and we "may* forgive you this transgression. If Homeslice approves it, of course.

Lennie, I just found you and Homeslice and I would hate to loose you because one idiot has to spread hate. Hang in there, I need my Homeslice fix!
