In the last five years, acres and acres of forest have been clear cut, trees burned, smoke filling the air enough I can smell if six miles away, and land leveled for more apartment complexs, storage complexes and strip malls. I do not recognize the community anymore. Every couple of weeks, I take a different route to my destination just to see what else has popped up. Thank goodness I own and am surrounded by trees and no one is going to touch them, at least until I am no longer.
Apartments and most new houses do not have attics or basements to store things. They rent a storage unit. A friend has two units just for her seasonal decorations.

No stopping progress. ( But, I’m not sure that is progress.)
