Wouldn't it be cool if our online names were our real names? I'd be razorwire365. Then what would your screen name be? Eddie Bucket. People still have to know it's me.
I have a group of online friends I have known for over a decade. A few of us have met IRL over the years and they call me Widget. I call many of them by their screen names as well. When what you see all the time is the screen name, they almost become that. For Greg: I have been a fan of your comic for some time now. I happened upon it one day and actually spent some time going back through years of older strips. All you need is a girl two years older than Toby and you have my kids. Toby and Eddie are so much like my own boys I fear you have a hidden camera in our house sometimes. Thank you for the laughs.
Simpsonfan2 has brought up one of the lines that Scott Stantis and I sometimes get about this comic strip- anyone know the reference? It’s pretty specialized. The other thing that sometimes comes up is ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’ Anyone want to guess why? I’m usually surprised when someone gets it. It doesn’t happen as often as you’d think, given the popularity of the movie.
“Keeping Up Appearances” is the most oft-cited thing that shares the surname Bucket. In fact, that show and The Buckets both debuted in 1990. The connection to ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ isn’t a line from the movie- though Number 6 pulled out some good ’uns. Anyone else want to guess what Charlie and Toby have in common?
Oh, and Widgetsx3… would you mind not watering that plant in the kitchen window? It’s nearly dead anyhow, and the water is shorting out our microphones and camera.
AAaaand widgetsx3 WINS! Toby and Charlie of the Chocolate factory share the same last name, along with Hyacinth and them from Keeping Up Appearances. Charlie, however, predates Toby and Hyacinth by 26 years, though.

Nobody calls me Greg, either. It’s usually “Get out of the way, Idiot” and “Whattayou, a moron?”

I remember “Keeping Up Appearances.” Richard was such a tolerant man.@Number 6 – one of the best shows ever made!
