I did that one summer 2 days before the 4th, but it was to bail water from my parent’s sump. Ours was the only house in the subdivision that didn’t end up with a flooded basement after the storm of the century raged all night.
I remember the excitement and the challenge of ‘Staying Up All Night’ as a kid, and the drudgery and worry of ‘Pulling An All-Nighter’ as a student. Now, I sleep no matter what’s gotta get done. I hope the fate of the world never relies on me being conscious around 2 a.m.
Oh the Joy of summer vacation. Endless horror. & sci-fi movie marathons. Popcorn, licorice, pop & tea. Then a short nap before being tossed out by mom & told not to come home until supper.
BTW Greg-loved the Sunday. BBQ. Riminded me of a few I’ve been to. If you can scrape off the dirt & still cook it, then all is not lost.

I remember being a teenager and playing D&D until dawn. No, I didn’t date much…
