I remember going to scout camp with my son, and that is EXACTLY how it would work! you nailed it, Greg. (Hey! That’s my son’s name!)

At the last campout we did, one scout had to actually be led away from the fire and kept from wandering back. He was mesmerized, in the classic sense. We couldn’t get him to pick up the campsite because if you turned your head just a hair, you’d have to go back and lead him away from the fire again.

and Strod- yeah, the blonde kid is sort of a regular. That’s kind of a caricature of my oldest kid from when he was a cub scout.

We finally got everyone on the same page, but that one kid was astounding in his attraction to the fire pit. The campsite got cleaned. The scout did his part. We finally made him hold the bag while the others scoured the area.
