Hey, Billy! We heard you had to stay after school in Mr. Maglin's class. Did he yell at you? Are you going to fail the class? Nah. He made me stay to meet a counselor. He said my assay shows that I need help, not punishment. Weird. Yeah! I'm worried he's a nut, just pretending to be a teacher.

Needs help? They’ll set him up with a nice little drug prescription to keep him well sedated all day long until he graduates. Then he becomes societies problem…no longer the school’s systems nightmare.

Billy’s eyes are like slits. He’s either a) high, b) drunk, or c) sleepless. Not good in any case. I – and I’m sure we all – went to HS with kids like this. God only knows what happened to my old classmates. Hopefully Mr. Deglin or someone else will find a way to reach this kid before he’s too far gone. A great teacher can make a huge difference. But there’s no substitute for good parenting; the toughest job you’ll ever love. (Someone should use that line. ;>))
