Every kid knows that mom and dad were always mom and dad, were never anything else, and they will always be mom and dad. Because to that kid, for the duration of their life, that is who those people are. It’s really very simple.
Are there REALLY families where kids over the age of about 4 actually don’t know that their parents have names, or what they are – or is that just a cartoon thing?
