I once watched a show on pet food where the manufacturer commented that it’s not hard to make pet food that the pets will eat. The hard part is making it something that the owners would feed to the pet.
My #2 sister’s husband’s step-mother had a finicky cat. Somehow, I was saddled with feeding it (and 7 other cats) for two weeks. By the fourth day, she was eating whatever the other cats got.
There is currently airing a dog food commercial that really irks me. They harp on the fact that their dog food contains no artificial coloring. My question is “Is the artificial coloring bad for my dog?”. If the answer is “no” then why bring it up? If the answer is “yes” then why the hell didn’t they tell us that so we can protect our dogs?

It’s not until you’ve pestered the grocer into stocking it and bought a case that you discover catzilla won’t eat it.

I always hear about finicky cats but I’ve never met one
We have 5, they all know if they don’t eat the food we give them someone else will

Alpo used to brag about being all beef, which really isn’t what dogs need. They need a little grain in their diet.
