Been there, done that. Got up too fast, head started to spin. Found myself on the ground with my co-workers asking me what happened. I asked “What do you mean?”. They said they came in and I was flat out on the ground. Luckily it was just a reaction I had to some medicine that caused a drop in blood pressure, when I stood yp too quickly.
I started getting dizzy when I laid down in bed a few years ago. Honestly, you’d think that would happen when I sit up, but noooo … my body has to do the weird thing! LOL!
There are plenty of reasons for blacking out, apparently. So far, mine have been: banging chin on pavement during a bike wreck. twisting my torn up ankle the second time in two days. And whatever the heck is going on in the comic strip today. I will (eventually) give you the same reasons the doctors gave me. Enjoy.

I wonder if we’ll be told the reason this happened?

My dad has had this happen to him about once a decade for the past 50 years. He says his doctors don’t know why, and his doctors won’t tell me.

This was happening to me for a time. Doctor reduced my blood pressure medication and problem ended.

The closest I’ve ever gotten to blacking out was after donating blood. That was fifty years ago.

I collapsed once. It was while I was recovering from kidney surgery. It was up there on my list of “No, thanks. BTDT!” terrifying experiences.

My son did a black out and it was due to a brain bleed. After 2 brain surgeries he seems to be okay these days. TBTG.

Good use of counterbalancing humor and seriousness, mainly by Grandpa’s reaction.

Those years of dropping acid finally caught up with him.
