Having inherited just such a chair in blue from my late grandmother, this made me laugh out loud in delight and warm memories. Thank you, Eddie. You’re a keeper.
get one with a motor that raises you up to an almost standing position. i got one for my husband (that unfortunately he never got to come home to enjoy) and one for my mom when she was in long term care. it was a Godsend for her.
I know of someone who sat down in a chair like that, and the family dog crawled under the foot rest and towards the back of the chair. Then when the foot rest was lowered the dog was caught in a “cage” and couldn’t get out. And nobody could figure out where the dog was or where the whimpering was coming from, until eventually they did. No dogs were hurt in this story.

As long as it does not break, then you have a heck of a time getting out of the chair. Especially if you are closer to Grandpa’s age.

I loved playing with my grandfather’s recliner. You could fit 3-4 kids on it — 2-3 on the seat and 1-2 on the foot rest.

Better put up a ‘No diving’ sign.
