I’ve lost 20kg in the last 1½ years. It doesn’t make me happy as such, but I can move more persevering and my diabetes is in hiatus which makes me enjoy life more.

The recommendation to loose weight will not make you happier right away, but will make you enjoy the happiness you have probably some more years, years you otherwise might spend being miserable. And maybe lets you experience even more happiness when you succeed.

I gave up using scales for my New Year’s resolution. So far, it’s still working.

You didn’t “get” him… you simply changed the topic from his purview, “health”, to yours, “happiness”

“If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, take an…”, no that’s not it. “Don’t worry. Be happy.” That’s it!

Once upon a time, you got to know your doctor. I haven’t even met my last three, the turnover at the clinic is that high. I don’t know if Kaiser has a retention problem or if they rotate doctors through their clinics.
