    Woden is the Norse god. The Latin god is Mercury, so the Latin languages are Miércoles in Spanish, Mercredi in French and Mercoledì in Italian

    Living languages tend to morph over time, that’s why the days of the week aren’t exactly like the originals. So Sun’s day, Moon’s day, Tyr’s day, Woden’s day, Thor’s day, Frigga’s day and Saturn’s day have become what they are now.
