I had a teacher who didn’t like red ink to correct paper because she thought the paper looked bloody afterward. She used green ink instead, so I guess she wasn’t concerned about it looking like Vulcan blood was smeared all over the place.

Maybe not as simple as that. There are some teachers who use red pensil too often for their own pleasure.
