True story: I was once into one of those bleeep shows, then stopped watching for a year. One day I turned it on again and I still knew exactly what was going on.
McGehee, I was a slavish devotee of one network’s shows for most of my childhood. Walked away from them while in college due to both time constraints and my now-husband’s strong wish I not continue watching them. Every so often, I look at the soap opera publications as they sit on the magazine racks next to the cash registers at the grocery store. And blessed if I don’t still recognize half the players. Steady work, thy name is successful soap opera.

Oh the soaps, the mind enslaving soaps, those my mother once called “her shows”.
