I’m sure Dusty has been called some awfully low-down, under-handed, nasty names in his time … but I’ll bet this one takes the cake! It’s not clear Dusty heard the Professor do it, though.
If you magnify the 3rd panel you can barely make out the right eye and yes it too appears to have circles…all of which indicates he didn’t sleep well which is understandable given the conditions.
