I know after my mom suffered a stroke, and had to be in skilled nursing, said the food was too bland. When we finally got to the point where they couldn’t help her, we took her back to her house where my sister & others cared for her. She was so glad to have hot Mexican food and other interesting flavors to eat again.
Ice chips are good for anyone who can’t actively salivate.
And, being small, they’re harmless even for someone whose mind is pretty much absent.
I have to eat spicy food every Monday just to wake my mouth up from a bland weekend at home with kids … and yet I am not now, nor have I ever been, in a coma!
Not so unusual.
Regarding the comments yesterday. First, I would like to thank you for those links.
I had to look real close at each image to realize that the similarity was not as close as I had originally thought when the Axe character was introduced… but I noticed that Axe’s hairstyle was quite different from Mr Pandolph’s.
Mr Doty’s post was so rude and unkind that I really wanted to disagree with him just for the sake of disagreeing with him. He couldn’t just say that he didn’t see the similarity, he had to parade out his education and figuratively rub your nose in it. Then he wonders why so many don’t like him.
Mr. Doty never told us, so far as I recall, which part of his brain was damaged by the assault he suffered way back when. And he obviously mentions it only very rarely, as he has the right to do.
He might well expect it’s none of anyone’s business.
We might well expect people here will have normal brains.
When we have expectations of one another - in any community, but especially in a community like a blog page where we can’t really meet and know each other - we’ll inevitably meet frustration or disappointment.
A good part of being human is - just letting it go.

When a person gets older, their taste buds do not work as well, so looks like Axe was a good hire by his sister with those strong flavors.
