Regulations signed into law by Bush in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.While we may often feel that the office of president is the only one that really matters, the laws come from much deeper and darker places in which every shining light of truth and beauty is a trap for the unwary public, and the executive signature is just an afterthought.
Never was a incandescent bulb ban.Heard this from a Phillips company rep.
The rule is the bulbs had to reach a level of efficiency. So the cheap s*%$ from overseas doesn’t end up here...There are halogen bulbs, which are not LED or CFL.Those will work just tine. Also the $1 bulbs usually last for about 3-4 months..Hate seeing this rumor stated by the libertarians, er I mean the tea party.
I don’t really care what kind of light bulb you “burn”, I think there are benefits and risks connected to all of them. I just wish they were made here; i.e., the good old USA instead of China, etc.
You’re requiring them to be more efficient so we use less electricity..Check the Libertarian Party platform from 1980 and see what the elected Tea Party leaning officials are doing. No Soc SecNo Medicare/MedicaidNo Fed Education No IRS.just is a start of the list.
I am in agreement with much of what you say, and although I do not support any particular party, I find myself socially liberal and fiscally conservative; sort of like the Libertarian party. What I do believe firmly is this country is in a world of hurt, and unfortunately, nobody seems to be able to do much to turn it around. Maybe it will require baby steps; but, I’m not seeing even much crawling.
So…. the LED & CFL haters don’t like their own money then eh? You can save about $6000 over 5 years by switching.http://eartheasy.com/live_led_bulbs_comparison.htmlExcel Energy is currently subsidizing the cost of 60W LED bulbs so that they cost $5 in their markets.

All the slogans and bumper stickers say the same thing, though. There is no more to read beyond those sources.
