    Fortunately there’s serious work on heirloom tomatoes to breed them with modern varieties so they have durability, appearance, disease resistance and great taste. Turns out finding the genetic markers for taste is a lot harder than anticipated.

    It could be that we have over worked the gournd and pulled most of the vit and taste out of the earth we are farming. Crop rotation and leltting the land lay fallow so it can regenerate itself. The Native Indians and our forefathers knew this. Today it is produce as much as you can as fast as you can. ‘The devil take the hindmost’ as far as quality is concerned.
