You really have to wonder what the story is behind Calvin shipping Hobbes off in pieces to some random stranger. This story arc started out dark and somehow ended up downright grim.

That tiger was very real to Calvin! I sure hope that we learn the back-story at some point in the middle-distance future – from the Hobbes and Calvin POV,AND that there’s a happy ending in store for both.
I love all the characters in this strip – so hilariously unique and believable!
