I can imagine how she feels dealing with American banks. My German credit union charges a fee if I go to a human teller more than once a month, or they would if I ever needed to do that. If I overdraw my account, whether it’s a transfer on the Internet, cash from a ATM or using my debit card at a store, they charge me interest to the amount I’m “the hole”. No fee, even though my account does not technically allow me to overdraw at all. The limit on that is somewhere under 100 euros I guess. Anyway I know 500 won’t work… but there was no fee for not paying that either.
Bank of America is different… my former US credit union too.
