Our oldest – gosh, turns 40 this year- was the only of our four that was colicky. He would cry forever. I asked the doctor what we should do and he said “just let him cry. He’ll give up after an hour or so.” My wife always wanted to pick him up when he started crying but one night at 2:00 A.M. he started to cry and I said “Doctor Bert says to let him cry so we’ll let him cry.” I threw in the towel after 45 minutes of crying at the top of his lungs where he turned a bright purple. I don’t think our neighbors ever forgave us.
