My long suffering bride and I were in downtown Vienna, Austria on a walking tour a couple years ago when my belt broke. I asked our guide where the nearest men’s store was. Turns out we were standing almost in front of one. He said he’d hold up the tour on the next block and I headed into the store. A young gentleman greeted me cordially and asked how he could help me. I told him, peeled off my old belt, which he took, found a reversible similar to mine, it fit and I handed over my visa card. I looked at the receipt, winced (140 euros – there’s no Walmarts or Kohls in downtown Vienna), and went on my merry way. When we got back to the States, I looked up the brand & style, and the same belt was going for $300 plus dollars. I guess I got a bargain. LOL Oh, and the belt is holding up well.
