In the 1978 ‘Superman’ movie, there was a scene where Clark Kent looks at a payphone on a stand and shrugs. Even then they were getting scarce!

The last public Pay phone I saw was probably 6 or 7 years ago, in the parking lot of a Disney water park. Two teen girls were looking at it like they’d discovered a dinosaur fossil!
