“Did she believe in Oscar wilde?”
Yup. But the last time i checked, Oscar Wilde was a largish male type who would best have been called “somdomite” from a distance, preferably in a letter.
n fact, when Wilde did a speaking tour in the US, he impressed the miners in a couple of Gold Rush boom towns as beng someone not to mess with.
The legend - probaby not true - is that when male homosexuality was outlawed in the UK, lesbianism wasn’t, because Vickie thought that it couldn’t possibly exist and that her ministers who told her about it had disgusting imaginations…
I heard that Victoria was presented with the bill making homosexuality illegal and simply drew a line through the part about lesbians. Probably apocryphal.

Sounds like Vickie doth protest too much. She trying to hide something? Perhaps a liberal past?

Fairportfan’s right: “Ladies don’t do that kind of thing.”
