I do hope that readers of this strip will be able to apply what they’ve learned when buying over-the-counter drugs. The comment space doesn’t allow room for a full discussion of homeopathy, but Pab has provided a brilliant summary. It’s a rare talent that can be this funny and this educational in such a small space.

I read an interesting rebuttal of homeopathy by Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr. from about 1840. Still holds true: homeopathy is still crap.

You realize, of course, that if you try diluting anything toxic, that homeopathy only makes it stronger. Take a microscopic grain of arsenic in a gallon of water, take one drop of that and add to another gallon of water and repeat as many time as you want. According to the logic of homeopathy, you’ll end up with something that coud kill thousands.

So this is the opposite of the sociopathic medicine practiced by modern pharmaceutical companies? If the medicine doesn’t cure the problem, keep increasing the dose until it does.
