Hey Pab, back when you first posted this strip, I recognized the spiral staircase, but didn’t get a chance to confirm it. I just took the time today to confirm it, when I looked up the photographer and his photos. My husband and I have eaten and stayed in this building, many times, in which the twin spiral staircases are located. They are in the Trustee’s Building which houses the front desk, dining room, and some lodging rooms at a restored Shaker village: Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. We have volunteered there for many years, for many special events, including some as Shakers and some as civilians (in our reproduction Civil War era clothes)during the Civil War, or as the Shakers would say: as “the world’s people”. This is one of our absolutely favorite historic places and is located 20 miles from Lexington, Kentucky on Route 68. ♪♫Suzanne♪♫
