Not a problem. The cartoonist is a member of MoveOn.org.

I get where Pab is coming from. It was just more manufactured outrage over the president not doing something that any president would not normally do. That’s why I cited the code yesterday – when a service member is killed, it’s appropriate for a governor or mayor of the state or town of that service member to order local flags to be flown at half staff, not the president. It is not a liberal/conservative thing – it is political game by those who complained. And that is shameful.

It wasn’t just the flag lowering; he was slow off the mark in terms of ANY reaction to the shooting. From Politifact:

“Overall, the data shows and experts agreed that it took more time than usual for Obama to issue a proclamation for the Chattanooga shooting.”

Combined with the fact that, as per the norm, the Obama administration is extremely shy about noting the fact that it was a Muslim talking about martyrdom who did the shooting, and people are a bit ticked off.

The fact that Sungenis and others here don’t get that says more about them than the “wing nuts.”

On the Right = Right Wing Nuts. How easy it is for the Left to avoid thinking.

Within hours of the Supreme Court declaring gay marriage legal the White House was illuminated with rainbow-colored lights. The presidential administration was prepared and willing to honor homosexuality but had to be persuaded to honor servicemen killed in the line of duty in the United States by a Muslim terrorist.

@Capt. Colorado. I am anti-Obama but I feel compelled to object to your point about the rainbow lights. Obama and crew had weeks/months to get ready to celebrate a win in the Rainbow case. They had plenty of time to plan ahead. Chattanooga appeared out of the blue. Comparing the two is unfair. While I agree completely that he should not have taken 4 days (hell he should not have taken 4 minutes) to finally honor the fallen, I just cannot compare the two events like you have. He has done enough other things for us to complain about, we don’t need any false narratives.

It’s a terrible state of affairs that the anti-Obama crusade has brought this country to, where even grief becomes nothing but artificial outrage at something the President has done/not done. I think of where the country might be if the Republicans had patriotism and were good losers. Highways and bridges repaired, a decent minimum wage, health care for everyone … . Do I sound like I’m a Bernie Sanders fan?
