Yeah, me. Had a Tandy Model I. Fixed it up with 4K of RAM, printer and acoustic coupler modem. My very first computer. No internet. User bulletin boards. Text only.
A phone line is one 56k data line. Standard 56k modems could not dial each other and get 56k. One end had to be hooked to a digital phone connection of a fractional T1. The big cable was RS232. It managed the serial port and data traffic. SCSI was for Disk, tape, and fast scanners.
I just inherited my grandson’s gaming computer to use for household and for my stocks. It’s very much faster than my old one. Especially powering up and shutting down. Just my favorite game is slower. Better graphics I guess. Maybe now I can win.

SCSI? One of the few Mac users at the time. I can’t remember there being a SCSI modem
