I wish people who want to make jokes about Priuses would learn something about them. They do not have to be plugged in. They charge their own battery. I have one of the first Priuses. I’ve had it for 9.5 years. Had no problems. They do not have to be serviced as often because there is less wear and tear on the engine. I can drive from San Francisco to LA on one tank of gas, and the tank only holds ten gallons.
Oh, and @treesaurus, what a bunch on nonsense. Our Prius has been much, much less expensive than our former cars, even though they were compacts. As I said, it only needs servicing every 5,000 miles instead of 3,000, and we’ve had no need for any major repairs. And of course, the gas mileage is much better. Not to speak of less pollution…

I didn’t read the fine print and that pain in the gas, that wasn’t covered.

The gas/electric hybrid I test drove didn’t have a plug. Good thing, eh?

A man? Read directions? Don’t be silly. I can figure this out by myself.

53.8 mpg currently on the [car’s] lifetime mpg meter. I could never break 42 on my all-petrol car. I am currently trying to get it back up 53.0 again.

In proofreading, I saw 53.8 and thought I changed it to 52.8 before submitting. 52.8 is the current reading; 53.0 is the best I have done so far.
