Best strip ever Adrian! Going to print it and stick a copy of it on the windshield of every car I see, that has a poor pooch in it!

Even if he rode on the roof, it’s still not a good idea to lock him in the car when you get to the mall.

Agreed. Some things actually are getting better.

I did once read about a judge who did sentence a couple to spend time in a locked car for doing that to their dog. That should happen more often!

No, no. My friend’s friend actually did this once by mistake. Her dog died, she was so upset & she got in trouble with the law. It was just a horrible situation and we feel so bad for her, but we would not want her to undergo any cruel & unusual punishment. The regular legal procedure is good.

I don’t see any less of it. I’d welcome a judge like the one Tigger read about. And if, like Wolf’s friend of friend, I had made that mistake I would willingly sit in that car to try to atone. Which of course is why I wouldn’t do it in the first place.

An eye for an eye in vengeance makes the whole world blind.

This strip is very timely. My partner was at college this week and he noticed that someone had tied up their older dog in the back of their truck. No water, no food, nothing and had gone to class. It was also a very warm day. He contacted security and they eventually tracked her down and took her out of her class and told her to take the dog home. The poor dog was shaking and scared. Some people have no business having a dog.

Ah dog sitting has reminded me why we didn’t get another puppy when our last dog went, as my mother once put it, trying to gently break the news to me as a college junior, that my dog had gone to “to a better place.” She couldn’t just say “Butch died.” Came out of the fraternity house closet where the phone was and doubled over in laughter. When asked what was so funny, all I could do was gasp out “my dog just died.” It was a week before anyone would sit with me at the dining table. Oh yes, our guests: One isn’t housebroken and the other “forgot” he was housebroken presumably to get back at his Peeps by ensuring our petsitting offer is not repeated. Worse thing is that I can’t go around the house bare foot.
