On the plus side, he gets the office to himself in three days when everyone else is home sick! On the negative side, he gets to do all their work…

Sick people should stay the freak home. Medicines that make you feel better do NOT stop the contagiousness of the illness.

At least he had the option to say home. Where I used to work, people had to come in no matter what or risk being fired.

Don’t workplaces have sick leave anymore? Of course that’s no help if you call in sick to go to the beach (or whatever).

It’s called “presenteeism.” I first saw the term about two decades ago; and this fits it precisely: The person who feels he has to report in to work even though he’s sicker than a dog. It’s probably not coincidental at all that I got my first job by crawling out of a sickbed to go to the job interview.

Sent our boss home early today. Told him to take his germs with him and share them on the bus.
