    I agree with you. If it’s a choice of zoos or poachers…many animals only exist today because of zoo breeding programs, and the newer zoos have much more natural habitats.

    There will always be people that don’t give a crud for anything, such as the poachers that are bringing elephants, rhinos, etc, to near extinction in Africa. If not for zoos they may have had already succeeded. Give it a rest with the harshness of them.

    I invite you to my zoo, then. I could introduce you to some remarkable individuals!I understand the sentiment. Adrian, I wish there wasn’t a need for zoos either. But they do serve a purpose.There are some tiger and rhino species that number the same in zoos as in the wild. When people don’t need to kill native species that compete with them, because there’s plenty of room for coexistence, I wish for zoos to be dissolved.Until then, tell a kid who’s never seen a live tamandua to care about it.
