More proof that doggy time is different than humans – 1 minute of human time = 7 minutes of dog time, so a humans 5-minute trip to duck into a store = 35 minutes equivalent to the poor dog in waiting. I saw this on the internet so it must be true!

We are quickly approaching the season when leaving your pet or child in a closed vehicle will result in a tragedy. Remember that car interiors heat to above 130 degrees quite rapidly.

Used to sneak up on the car and catch him sleeping.

Bad idea to leave your dog in the car, unless you are okay with risking a dead dog. In my town, you also risk a ticket (and maybe a broken window) if someone decides your dog is in distress.

Is there a safe temperature to leave a dog alone inside a parked car? Not really. When the outside temperature is 70 degrees, a car can heat up to 89 degrees in just 10 minutes, and to 104 in 30 minutes.

Currently, 22 states have laws that either make it illegal to leave a dog unattended in a parked vehicle, or grant private citizens immunity from being held liable for damages resulting from freeing the dog, if it’s obvious the dog is at risk of injury or death.
