    If you stick to pic-a-nik baskets, you’ll be fine. Besides, garbage cans are too fattening.

    My wife tells the family camping story when she was a kid at Yosemite: bear pushing a cooler down a dirt road and the owner driving behind bumping the bear and honking. Bear dragged the cooler into the woods and the driver gave up.

    good thing he wasn’t here in japan, where the ‘solution’ to the problem of bears that show up in town is to trap them and shoot them in the cage…
