It’s too bad we aren’t as willing to help our fellow human beings.

I didn’t know I was starting a lifetime of rescue-dog companions when someone brought a lost ball of fluff into the office of the vet hospital where I worked. We adopted him. The next was from another employee of a sister hospital who had a Border Collie who needed to be re-homed. Now, nearly fifty years later, we have long line of dearly loved, and just as dearly missed, companions to look back on. Our current two, with all their doggie foibles, keep us happy, humble, occasionally frustrated, and always glad they’re here.

Homeless by choice. The more society accommodates them, the more there will be. If the beggars by choice got hungry enough, they would take some of the many jobs available.

I was homeless most of my life, since I was 16. I never ended up on the street but the people I stayed with as well as most of my roommates were abusive, took my money and things and ate my food.

One poodle mix, 15 years and counting. One other poodle mix, 6 years and counting. One beagle mix, 7 years and counting. I think. Time flies…..
