When I was on Dong Tam in 1969, one of the guys had a dog he named “Brown Dog” (because the base commander wouldn’t let him put “Sh-t For Brains” on the base records). Brown Dog loved to run, he would rather run than ride in the jeep. You’d lose him in the straightaways, but he’d catch up when you turned (he’d cut the turn short). One day he was running from another dog and ended up in a cul de sac, Brown Dog turned around snarling and the other dog turned tail and ran.
