    Worse than that…

One summer, probably about 1965, when our family was walking back to our car at Jerico Beach, I heard the faint cry of a baby. I alerted my Dad and when we found which car it was, there was a baby in a bassinet in the back seat, the car was locked, with the driver’s window open no more than 1/2". Dad got his fingers in the gap and gave it a mighty yank, breaking it off the track and then tried to sound the horn to attract the owner (didn’t work.) Just then, the fellow walked up, having seen Dad break in and declared that Dad was going to have to pay for the damage. He was well over 6 feet, Dad was 5’2". But after Dad tore into him about how he could lay charges of child abuse against him fro leaving a baby in a hot car, he looked like he was about 2 feet tall.

Just as well the guy didn’t try anything- Dad never lost his edge for hand-to-hand combat from WWII.

People who do that to their dogs should be locked in a hot car and left!

Bad timing, but a message that needed to be made. I just saw an article where a toddler was left in a hot car and died. Sorry for the downer.

They arrested the culprit and she was mortified at being arrested, “it’s only a dog”, she cried as they led her away…

I think that anyone who leaves a pet (or child) locked in a vehicle should be locked in a vehicle for 10 times the amount of time the poor animal (child) was in there.

On a hot day, a dog can overheat in a car faster than you can drink that 32 oz. Slurpee.

Oregon has a law that allows anyone to do that if a child or pet is in danger.
