When my son comes in the house from hunting in the woods my dogs can’t stop sniffing his pantlegs—cause every tree or bush he brushed against tells a (scent) story.
When Stella came across something interesting on our walks, she would stick her nose deep into the grass and take in a lungful, possibly doing deep analysis and categorizing.
At one time I worked at a local animal shelter. When I returned home I could barely get through the door before my dog took a lot of time smelling my pant legs. Since she was adopted from that same animal shelter, I always wondered what types of memories the scents brought her.
