When I was still working, my travel route took me through a residential area with a lot of dog walkers. One lady and her pooch both had different matching outfits everday. A couple of times, I circled the block to get a second/better look.
This reminds me of an early Peanuts comic. Charlie and Linus are watching as Snoopy walks by wearing a garish coat. Charlie says that’s a ridiculous looking coat and I wouldn’t be caught wearing it to a dogfight. In the next panel Snoopy is scowling and there’s a dark cloud over His head. Charlie asks what his problem is and Linus replies that he’s going to a dogfight.

Jax Dog doesn’t like his winter coat, probably because it is too warm. The raincoat, however, means he is going out to play in the water.
