It’s so hard to tell these days. I really have compassion for the homeless, it breaks my heart to see homeless people. But, I want to make sure that they get help to improve their lives, not just a handout. And sometimes people get picky. When I was in Iraq, we would see children on the streets begging for food. We would hand them our MRE’s. Then they got wise, rather than just being grateful for what they got, they started to get picky, they would put up the number of their favorite meals.
your right all you are doing is giving them booze money. In this case with the dog you may be giving him a pay check some of the bums beging get dogs to up thier take. I was reading a few years back about a man that had a panhandlers class and you could make over 60 grand a year

I offer them my granola bar. If they decline, they aren’t for real.

Great! I’m sure the bus will take a sandwitch when he needs to go home.
