Yeah, I get offended at all the medical ads these days. “We’ve got the cure for hangnails, possible side effects include kidney failure, dementia, stroke, heart attack and death”.
I sometimes think that these ads are psych tests – anybody who asks for the drug should be committed for being too stupid to be allowed to make any decisions.
When a company is testing a drug, there is a control group that gets a placebo (or the drug components with everything EXCEPT the active ingredient) and the test group. If even 1 more person in the test group reports a side effect, it has to be listed. It may not even have anything to do with the drug in question.
