Made me recall the “nut’n but net” shot in “Aliens.”
The hybrid Ripley, back to the goal, tossed the ball perfunctorily, which really and unexpectedly swished through the net. Sadly, the camera set up didn’t capture the ball’s complete flight; that left the shot open to potential fakery by the special effects department. Several attempts at a repeat, with different camera settings to capture the whole event, failed. Also, Ron Perlman’s spontaneous and obscene exclamation after Ripley’s first shot had to be edited.
