Wallace always looks on the positive side of Spud’s dilemma. But why would she trade a Spud for a cucumber?

Wallace: “You’re right, Spud. We’d need to ask mom to clone you as something higher-pitched. Does a potato have the right tenor?”

two baritones in a barbershop quartet works fine! Wallace is certainly a tenor so now they will only need a bass!

Spada is cool as a cucumber, particularly now that we know that he’s got a dulcet baritone sound.

Though that said: Spud, I’m pretty sure Wallace’s mother would be just content to be able to control Wallace. Or for that matter, Sterling.

Perhaps a very large seagull could do a smooth bass tone (squawk)

Looks like cucumber Spud has been out of the fridge for too long. It’s a total giveaway when you can actually see the green liquid pooling around his feet, let alone hear the Blurps. I feel like Wallace’s mom would have known this and not chosen a cucumber (or a zucchini).

Spud as a slowly dissolving cucumber echoes a certain X Files story arc.
