We used to do something like this on purpose at the community pool when I was a kid. We’d stand at the end of the diving board, drop ourselves onto our butts and bounce off into a dive. That is, until the lifeguard blew the whistle and told us this maneuver wasn’t allowed. The last time I was at a public pool (about 20 years ago), diving boards were no longer allowed at all. I guess too much legal risk these days? What a shame.
In real life it looked like Wallace would have hit the top of the piling with his back or the back of his head. In either case he could have ended up in the hospital.

Wallace, you don’t want to head back to school carrying a doughnut pillow.

Spud certainly has a future, possibly as a used car salesman.

The blue sploosh is so evocative of the real thing.

That’s the most awkward thing I’ve seen Wallace do all summer.

The butt flip. Should be made into an Olympic event. The seismic SPLOOSH earns him a perfect 10.0

Get the feeling that in ten years this situation will be preceded with “Hold my beer and watch this.”?

At least it was his bum and not his head that hit!

Ouch! Good thing Wallace doesn’t have much occasion to sit down in the summer.
