A true genius. Wayahead of his time. Like losing a friend.

I loved this guy when I was in high school. I wish that I had kept up with him.

I am genuinely sorry to learn of his death via this tribute. He has been one of my favorite cartoonists since I was a teenager. I have several of his books. While I love his unique take on horror themes, I also loved Nuts. The collected volume of those strips is one of the prized possesisons of my cartoon collection.

I have always felt a certain kinship with Mr Wilson. So sad he has died. He was born 27 years before me. But one look at his work and it is so much like me. One of his drawings shows a little boy walking down the street and above and around him his colorful thoughts of monsters. And two ladies looking at him through a window comment on the strange boy walking alone…
