    For process nerds…

This is an example of what I call a streptonym. It’s a verbal device I use from time to time.

    strep·to·nymnoun

A phrase formed by linking two or more phrases containing words in common with each other. “Molotov cocktail” + “cocktail sauce” = “Molotov cocktail sauce.”

From the Greek roots strepto- (bent, twisted, resembling a twisted chain), and -onym, (name, word). The word “streptonym” itself utilizes the technique, with the common letter “o” serving as the linkage point.

To resemble a twisted chain, a streptonym should also have a humorous “twist.”

    Neologism coined by Wayno, 2011
