I thought Yukoner’s question apropos, and it seems an “assassin” is meant to imply the target is politically prominent. If you’re not in politics, then you can be murdered, but not assassinated.
This is part of what I found in the entry on Dictionary.com (reading the whole entry is recommended):
a murderer, esp. one who kills a politically prominent person for fanatical or monetary reasons.
( initial capital letter ) one of an order of Muslim fanatics, active in Persia and Syria from about 1090 to 1272, whose chief object was to assassinate Crusaders.
Thanks - it definitely was worth reading the whole entry.
The more things change, the more they remain the same, huh?
Remember in geometry when they told you that ssa isn’t enough to prove triangles congruent? asa was ok. aas was ok. But don’t you dare say angle-side-side! :)

Does the Fink have a Secret Service?

Which member of the Scorpions was in the Fink’s Cheerios?

How important do you have to be to be assassinated rather than murdered?
Superfrog over 14 years ago
I can remember when “Cheerio” was another word for “Goodbye” so death by cheerio somehow seems quite reasonable.

Hey King, don’t tell any of the other IDiots about getting a scorpion in your Cheerios, or they’ll all want one.
Hillbillyman over 14 years ago
I once found some Cheerios in my Scorpions…Bummer.

Very subtle, these assassins.

Hey Yokoner, you could have at least given a tip of the hat to Chris Rock who may have first asked the difference between murder and assassination.

Maybe the scorpion just likes Cherios.

TexTech, I heard that question before Chris Rock was born. No tip of the hat on this one.

I can’t remember when they last had free prizes in cereal Edcole.
Probably too many parents waiting for the prize to pass put an end to that!

Scorpions are better if you saute them.
