@Bruno: they tried in 2002. A pilot for a series was all set to go, but it was cancelled at the last minute. Seems the script writers got carried away, and the story lines were veering too far from the original premise, making it more like Buffy’s world than Pern. Ms. McCaffrey had sold the film rights in 1996, so she couldn’t do anything about it anyway. A big screen movie was planned, but hasn’t come about yet.
Well.that was a cheap, insipid plot splot..call 911 for a code 314…(the paramedics showed up for the gag but Parker and Hart didn’t) more is the pity.. sigh..
I don’t know if y’all know but in ’69 a tv pilot for The Wizard of Id was made with the late Jim Henson producing but it never made it to series you can look it up on YouTube
